I have been reviewing what is existence said with the upgrades; not really easing my concerns.
you say that the upgrade from 1909 to 20H2 is fine and stable, notwithstanding I still notice there are a lot of people experiencing issues.
I am not Totally tech savvy or an IT practiced; So, I'm nervous about having to try and preserve / retrieve all my electric current software, such equally mail client Office Outlook 2010, and third party software, etc. I take had for years.
Also I don't like or desire certain changes such as Edge and notice it will installed as default.
So are you saying at that place is no need to manual update, and that 20H2 volition upgrade automatically?
Or, do I have to manually upgrade from 1909?

If you are on version 1909, that will become an automatic update in May, honestly, hundreds of millions of people have upgraded without outcome, you will merely see online the people that accept experienced difficulty, people don't mail online when an update is successful . . .
To update manually, click the link below, then click 'Update Now' on that page to download the Update Assistant, then run that to immediately go 20h2 and bring your PC right up to date

I beg to differ about the issues with 20H2 being resolved. I just tried to update from 1909 and it failed and rolled back. This happened to me way back in November and thought surely by at present this would be resolved, just it's not. The error code I got was 0xc1900101, only I tin can't notice out what that ways.

I'm even so nervous most this. Why tin can't Microsoft brand things user friendly.

I simply tried to install this turd on March xiii. PC was running fine. After 6 hrs. downloading and "installing" message was Sorry, unable to install, attempt again. I ran Windows Update Troubleshooter and it found and stock-still a problem. Tried again, this fourth dimension after six hours still non installed. Left PC on overnight and 8 hours later when I checked information technology said to restart. I did and it went into more downloads and update installs. Finally "successfully" installed. Now my PC kept not responding and completely locking up on all browsers and file actions. After researching this I finally gave upward and reverted to previous version. EVERYTHING WORKS FINE AGAIN! PS I am a retired estimator operator and software designers so this ain't my kickoff rodeo! My advice Practice NOT INSTALL, expect and prey THEY Fix THIS!

According to DaveM121 it is only happening to a certain number of people only.
This issue has been going on for far too long, and there hasn't been a fix. That tells me that MS doesn't seem to be concerned nigh that number that are adversely affected past this.
Then, I'm not confident that there will be a fix sooner or after.
Information technology would be nice if MS would respond to this issue.
Ah well...

My married woman is struggling with this. She does not want to upgrade from version 1909 in case her Outlook stops working. She is now considering joining me - I only use Linux. I know this is no assist to those of yous who don't desire to switch - and that includes my wife. But there'due south only so much frustration one can tolerate. An operating system should sit there and work, and not have to be constantly wrestled with. Nosotros'll encounter what the time to come brings. I hope information technology can all be resolved before long.

Thanks for your proposition. You are right in saying; "An operating system should sit there and work, and non take to be constantly wrestled with".
I remember I'll only look and see what happens in April. If it becomes an automatic update and so I'll see what happens. If I have to roll information technology back or but determine to stick with my current version, so I'll take to come across what options are bachelor to me then.

I have two NAS drives on my domicile network ( Synology and zyxel )where I store my media files, and am working on digitizing my vast CD collection to FLAC and then I can serve information technology up via Kodi. When I showtime installed 20H2 on my desktop, my Windows Credentials broke, and I could no longer access my NAS drives. I could redo the credentials, and utilise them to access it while logged on, but if I turned my PC off (which I practise every night), the next time I used it, the credentials are broken again! I accept gone through this practise 3 times now retrying 20H2, months apart, hoping MS has finally fixed information technology, and each time I lose access to my hardware....until I revert back again to 1909. And you are telling me that MS will *force* me to install it in May?? I have checked on production forums, provided feedback about information technology to MS, tried some suggested commands to cease and restart workstation services, all for naught. Your software breaks my hardware, total end.
